We have to talk MTV VMA's Fashion

Ah the MTV Video Music Awards were held last night, which means I get to play fashion police. Lets get started...

Demi Lovato is girly-tough...seriously, it's the oldest trick in the book—mixing a girly prom dress with a tough-as-nails studded black biker jacket—i don't love it but i don't hate it either.

Rihanna debuted a super-short pixie cut on the red carpet — super cute! The singer wore stunning, floor-length white tank dress. Gorgeous and grown-up.

I particularly love the back with the interesting knot at the waist.

Pink chose this metallic crew-neck long-sleeve maxi-dress from Stella McCartney. She looks fierce — this dress is somehow totally glamorous and really tomboy-ish (in the cool Pink way) all at the same time.

Alicia Keys glammed it up on the red carpet ahead of her live performance on stage in this one-shoulder metallic green-gray gown. Love it!

Taylor Swift in a white pant suit - meh- she has never done it for me- musically or style. The country-pop star chose this cream-and-white tuxedo for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Boring! What I want to know is, where's her 18-year-old boyfriend?

I so badly wanna hate on this but I can't. Miley Cyrus chose this stunning, edgy (to match her new look!) floor-length Emilio Pucci gown from the fashion house's fall 2012 collection. 

Emma Watson wears a dress of many colors. Emma chose this paneled and patterned sleeveless mini-dress for the red carpet. It's so different and daring—and one of those rare dresses that can really be worn at any occasion (maybe it's because it's confusing? Not sure, to be honest). Love it or loathe it? Your call. And yes we are soo not discussing Ezra Miller's look.

Rita Ora in Custom Emilio Pucci. Miss Ora was presenting for the first time ever at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards—and, for the occasion, she chose this daring, cleavage-baring sheer-paneled custom-made Emilio Pucci jumpsuit. Am not a fan and her boobs look halfway down her chest...not a good look.

What I did like is this little white number she chose when presenting. LOVE IT! Not completly sold on the shoulder detail but LOVE IT!

Elie Saab is one of my fav designers but this dress is BIG no-no for me. I hate the red and blue detailing. And while am impressed Ms Perry managed to tone down the makeup and the wild hair — I honestly just cannot with this dress choice.

Nicki Minaj in a piped lace bodysuit. Every time I think that Nicki Minaj has hit her sartorial limit—every time I think she can't possibly push the envelope even more, she, well, does. Here she is in a red-piped black lace bodysuit. It goes so well with the postman hat and bright yellow wig. Love the shoes though!

What is happening here? I'm soooo confused. Jessica Szohr is wearing a leopard scarf on her head!!! Is Jessica Szohr wearing a control-top bodysuit with that double-slit skirt? Is someone really trying to pull a double-Angelina-Jolie-leg-move? And what's up with the combat snow boots? So many questions...
